The latest Crimson Desert update in this November 1, 2026 snapshot is Version 2.04.04, published at 04:28 UTC. It fixes a Greymane equipment duplication issue, disappearing registered farm livestock and Korean text appearing in part of the Gift interface. Its rollout is not complete everywhere: Xbox and the Mac App Store are still listed as pending in the current platform table.
Do not confuse this hotfix with 2.04.00, the October 29 launch update for Charting the Unknown, or with 2.00.00, the August Enhanced upgrade. The hotfix addresses specific problems; it does not introduce every expansion system again or guarantee that every reported bug has been resolved.
Check availability for your storefront
| Platform | 2.04.04 status at the November 1 snapshot |
|---|---|
| Steam on Windows PC | Available |
| Steam on Mac | Available |
| PlayStation | Available |
| Xbox | Pending, with rollout in progress |
| Epic Games Store | Available |
| Mac App Store | Pending, with rollout in progress |
The hotfix title includes All Platforms, but that describes the intended scope. It does not override the separate availability entries. A player on Xbox should not treat a PlayStation player's updated version number as proof that the same package is already downloadable on Xbox.
Mac players also need to distinguish storefronts. Steam on Mac and the Mac App Store have different status entries here. Selecting the row for your operating system alone is insufficient when the rollout is tracked by both platform and store.
Before diagnosing an update problem, identify the installation you are actually launching and inspect its available update status. If your storefront is still pending, the useful explanation is the staged rollout shown above. Repeatedly comparing it with another platform's completed download does not change that state.
Understand the equipment fix precisely
The first 2.04.04 change concerns equipment classified as key items when it is equipped on a Greymane comrade. Under the affected conditions, loading a save or restarting the game could leave that equipment unequipped and duplicated in inventory.
This is a specific sequence involving an item classification, a comrade and a reload or restart. It is not a blanket description of every missing piece of player equipment or every duplicate in the inventory. If you are checking the effect of the update, compare the same comrade and equipment state across the action that previously triggered the problem.
The patch does not announce a general inventory-cleaning operation. Do not assume that existing duplicate objects have been removed, that unrelated equipment has been restored or that every inventory display issue shares the same cause. Keep the original triggering sequence in view when deciding whether your symptom matches this fix.
For practical troubleshooting, record the item involved, who had it equipped and whether the problem appeared after loading or restarting. That information distinguishes the documented issue from a different inventory problem and makes a remaining report more useful than simply describing all equipment behavior as broken.
Check livestock and Gift text separately
The livestock fix targets animals already registered at the farm that could disappear. If you use that system, inspect the registered livestock after applying the available hotfix. The change concerns persistence of those registered animals; it does not announce a new animal-acquisition method or a wider farming expansion.
Do not treat the fix description as a promise that every previously lost animal has automatically returned. Check the actual state of your farm and keep any continuing symptom separate from the claim that the disappearance issue has been addressed. A past loss and a new disappearance after updating are different observations.
The third fix concerns some text in the Gift interface appearing in Korean. This is a localization correction. It does not change the fundamental distinction between ordinary Trust and the additional relationship level used by expansion romance, and it does not announce new gift values or remove daily interaction limits.
If gifting is your concern, identify whether the issue is unreadable or incorrectly localized text, an unavailable interaction, a cooldown or a relationship requirement. Only the first of those directly matches the 2.04.04 text fix. Using the right description avoids expecting a localization patch to solve every relationship problem.
Read the recent versions in order
| Version | Role in the current update history |
|---|---|
| 2.00.00 | The August Enhanced base-game update for existing owners. |
| 2.03.02 | A September hotfix covering specific quest and map issues. |
| 2.04.00 | The October 29 expansion-launch feature baseline. |
| 2.04.04 | The November 1 hotfix with the three changes described above. |
An older announcement can remain visible in search results or on a homepage card after newer updates exist. Its release date and version determine what it describes. Seeing an older full patch article does not make that older version the correct target for your current installation.
Enhanced is particularly easy to misread because it changed the game's storefront name. The free Enhanced upgrade introduced story and language improvements and included the earlier post-launch additions at that time. It is not another name for purchasing Charting the Unknown, and version 2.00.00 is not the current November build.
Likewise, the 2.04.00 launch notes remain useful for understanding new systems even after a smaller hotfix arrives. A feature first described there does not need to appear in the three-line 2.04.04 fix list to remain part of the expansion. Read the launch baseline and later corrections as different layers of information.
Recognize the major 2.04.00 additions

The Facilities view is one of the map changes introduced with the expansion launch update.
The launch update established the expansion's ocean progression, new character quests, expanded housing and management systems. Its A Wider World quest depends on Howling Hill and further Greymane camp expansion. The individual Kliff, Oongka and Damiane stories require Journey's End and are accessed through the Journal.
For housing, the relevant path is the Howling Hill camp plus Luke's Request, followed by Home Decoration > Layout > Free Construction. For businesses, the map gained a Facilities tab through which eligible liberated strongholds can be managed. These are progression and ownership checks, not symptoms automatically repaired by the latest hotfix.
The map also received practical changes. Trade routes remain visible, the maximum zoom-out distance increased, and controller users can focus the map on a summoned horse, wagon, ship or Blackstar with the left-stick action. If the map looks different after a long absence, those changes help explain the new behavior.
Region status colors became more informative: blockaded regions are red, reconstructing regions light red, incidents yellow and uncharted regions grey. Greymane-owned strongholds appear light blue. Read the color alongside the location's panel rather than assuming every altered icon marks a newly broken quest.
Recognize combat changes from the launch update
The 2.04.00 baseline also changed particular combat actions. Counter received improved animation and effects, while the startup time for Oongka's Scatter Shot and Damiane's Shield Toss was reduced. These changes concern named actions; they are not a universal damage increase for every attack or a new character build that the smaller hotfix adds.
For Kliff, the launch update corrected an Aerial Swing problem after connecting Axiom Force to terrain while flying. If that is the behavior you are investigating, keep its action sequence separate from the equipment duplication fixed in 2.04.04. Both can involve the same saved game, but they concern different systems and were addressed in different releases.
This distinction is useful when comparing older footage with your current controls. Check the action and applicable version rather than assuming every difference is a new input requirement. The current three hotfix changes remain the narrower equipment, livestock and Gift-text corrections.
Review interface and graphics changes in context
The 2.04.00 interaction interface added clearer Chat and Gift options and a displayed wait time after an interaction raises Trust. That cooldown display helps explain why repeating the same action immediately may not raise the relevant relationship value again. It is a feature of the interaction system, not evidence that the latest localization fix failed.
For PC graphics, upscaling and frame generation can be selected separately. The launch notes give combining DLSS upscaling with FSR frame generation as an example. This is an options change; it does not establish a universal best configuration or guarantee a performance improvement on every machine.
Other launch changes include a larger overall item stack size and storage-related fixes. Read your current item and storage interfaces directly when checking them. A broader update can change everyday handling without changing the acquisition requirement for a specific DLC reward.
These examples are useful when returning from an older build because they separate intentional interface differences from the narrower 2.04.04 defects. A new menu arrangement, a cooldown indicator and a missing animal are not one shared problem simply because they became noticeable during the same session.
Update before testing a matching problem
Start with the storefront row for your installation. Apply the latest update available there, then inspect the relevant version information before repeating the action that caused trouble. If you own the expansion, check the base game and expansion installation together rather than assuming that a completed download for one proves the other is current.
For a matching equipment issue, use the same comrade and key-item equipment involved before the update. For livestock, inspect registered animals. For Gift text, reopen the affected interface. Keeping the test tied to the documented trigger produces a clearer result than changing several systems and then trying to infer which patch mattered.
If the symptom persists, describe the platform, store, displayed version and exact action involved. Keep those details with the current behavior so that a report distinguishes an unpatched installation from a problem continuing on the updated build. The latest hotfix is a specific set of corrections, and the platform rollout table remains the first checkpoint for deciding which corrections your installation can currently include.
